Why Quiñones Muay Thai
Real Muay Thai taught with structure, real standards, and a welcoming culture that helps students grow for the long term.
Classes follow a plan so beginners are not left guessing and returning students keep building with purpose.
Students build posture, timing, balance, and control before speed, ego, or chaos take over.
Training builds composure, resilience, and self-trust that show up at school, work, and home.
Students are welcomed, coached carefully, and held to a real standard without intimidation.

Kru Mario is the heart of Quiñones Muay Thai. He has been building his school since 2016, creating a place where beginners, families, experienced students, and fighters can train with serious instruction, structure, and purpose.
Alongside growing his own program, Quiñones has brought that same work into San Diego public schools, including King-Chavez Primary Academy and King-Chavez Academy of Excellence, and now Southwestern College's Jaguar Aquatics Wellness & Sports (JAWS). Over the years he has coached students from beginner to professional, led self-defense seminars, and trained Marines in hand-to-hand combat.
Quiñones philosophy is simple: martial arts is a science and a lifestyle that should connect to real life, not stay inside the gym. His students are part of his family, and he is committed to sharing his knowledge and passion with everyone who walks through the door.
Questions, Answered
Most people arrive with a few real questions. This section is here to answer them clearly before they ever step into class.
Before the First Class
Whether someone is brand new, enrolling a child, or wondering if the room will be too intense, the program is built to make the first step feel clear instead of intimidating.
The goal is not to throw people in. It is to coach them well enough that they want to come back and keep growing.
01
Most new students begin with zero experience. Classes start with fundamentals, clear coaching, and a pace that helps people build confidence without feeling lost.
02
Kids classes are supervised, age-appropriate, and built around respect, control, and good habits before intensity ever becomes the focus.
03
Training is scaled by level, so new students can take things seriously without being thrown in too fast or expected to keep up with advanced athletes on day one.
